What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

When you become a Dash Bookkeeping and Tax client, you entrust us with personal and financial information about you, your customers, vendors and employees. We recognize that your relationship with us is based on trust and that you expect us to act responsibly and in your best interests. Because we have access to this private information about you, we hold ourselves to the highest standards in its safekeeping and use. This means, most importantly, that we do not sell client information to anyone whether it is your personal information regardless if you are a current or former Dash Business and Tax client.

The Information We Collect About You
In the course of doing business with our clients, we collect nonpublic personal information about you. “Nonpublic personal information” is personally identifiable private information about you or your company For example, it includes information regarding your name and address, Social Security or taxpayer identification number, assets, income, account balance, bank account information and investment activity (e.g., purchase and redemption history).

How we Handle Your Personal Information
As emphasized above, we do not sell information about current or former clients or their accounts to third parties. Nor do we share such information, except when necessary to complete transactions at your request or to make you aware of related services that we offer. Additional details about how we handle your personal information are provided below. To complete certain transactions or account changes that you direct, it may be necessary to provide identifying information to companies, individuals or groups that are not affiliated with Dash Business and Tax. For example, if you ask to transfer assets from another financial institution to another, we will need to provide certain information about you to that company to complete the transaction. In certain instances, we may contract with nonaffiliated companies to perform services for us. Where necessary, we will disclose information we have about you to these third parties. In all such cases, we provide the third party with only the information necessary to carry out its assigned responsibilities and only for that purpose. And we require these third parties to treat your private information with the same high degree of confidentiality that we do. In certain instances, we may share .information with other financial institutions regarding individuals and entities in response to the U.S.A. Patriot Act. Finally, we will release information about you if you direct us to do so, if we are compelled by law to do so or in other circumstances permitted/ mandated by law.

Opt Out Provisions
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. The law allows you to “opt out” of only certain kinds of information sharing with third parties. The firm does not share personal information about you with any third parties that triggers this opt-out right. This means YOU ARE ALREADY OPTED OUT.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about clients to our employees and in some cases to third parties (for example, the service pro­viders described above) as permitted by law. We maintain strict physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
